
Masaru Tsuji was born in the northern island of Hokkaido and grew up surrounded by nature. He never played taiko until he entered the Kodo Apprentice Centre in 1995, but his talent revealed itself early on and he became a Kodo member in 1998. On stage, he plays taiko drums, metal percussion instruments, sings, and dances. With years of experience, his stable presence now supports the entire stage. He is one of the leading singers in the ensemble who has a unique richness to his voice.
