Yosuke Oda first encountered taiko when he was a high school student. He entered the Kodo Apprentice Centre in 1999 and became a Kodo member in 2003. On stage he is featured mainly on taiko drums and metal percussion instruments. His solo performance during the Kodo signature piece Miyake captivates audiences with its ebullient spirit. He pushes himself to the limits physically while passionately seeking the true sound of the drum. Whether playing the o-daiko part in Monochrome or his own solo composition Akatsuki, Oda is a power hitter who leaves the impression of a man in search of something profound.
