Profile
Kei Sadanari started playing taiko after joining a community group when he was six years old. He entered the Kodo Apprentice Centre in 2017 and became a Kodo Member in 2020. On stage, Sadanari is mainly featured on taiko drums. Focusing on the fundamentals first and foremost, his main goals as a performer are having the power to play large taiko and the agility to play intricate rhythms on katsugi okedo (barrel drum carried on a shoulder strap) and taiko sets. In 2020, Sadanari thrilled audiences in “Kodo One Earth Tour: Tsuzumi” as a powerful dancer in Hitohi. He continues to broaden his range of expression as a performer by tackling new challenges with determination and plenty of enthusiasm.
